  • POND (Post-Medieval to Modern - 1540 AD? to 1999 AD?)
  • RECTANGULAR ENCLOSURE? (Unknown date)

Description

Circular feature seen on a 1946 RAF AP and plotted as a cropmark. A possible rectilinear enclosure seen on 1968 OS AP and plotted as cropmarks is suggested to be associated with the Codimore religious site (B1).
The circular feature was a pond clearly visible on 1950s St Joseph oblique APs and also marked on OS 25 inch and 6-inch maps until the sewage works was constructed in the 1970s. The rectilinear enclosure is not visible on APs held by BCC and the suggested association with Coddimore is unlikely as this lies over 1km to the south (B2).
NGR to pond.
