Description

There is evidence for a medieval fair at Chetwode. The fairwas granted by charter and was to be held on the vigil, feast and morrow of the Nativity of Mary, at the priory. The feast day fell on the 8th September. The charter was granted by King Edward I to the prior and convent of Chetwood (B1)
