Description

Cropmarks of a possible rectangular or square enclosure with internal circular feature and a N-S alingned linear boundary a short distance to the east, plotted from APs held at NMR [not visible on APs held by BCC](B1).
Initial geophysical survey carried out by Bartlett-Clark Consultancy between December 2003 and April 2004 identified a scatter of 5 isolated anomalies suggesting the presence of burnt material and indicating possible hearths, ovens or kilns. Fieldwalking carried out between January and April 2004 identified a general very low-density scatter of post-medieval pottery (2 sherds) and roof tile (2 fragments) from the field and a single sherd of medieval pottery, however the eastern part of the field was not available for fieldwalking (B2).
