Description

The depostis at Rose Cottage have resulted primarily from activity associated with the present house, and involved significant disturbance for the laying of a field drain for instance. The lack of medieval pottery, however, is striking and may well suggest that this part of the village lay outside that of its medieval precursor. A single sherd of Iron Age pottery adds further to our knowledge of prehistoric activity in the area (B1).
