Description

Some of the concrete panels belonging to the watercress bed are still in situ. According to the present occupier (Mr Stroud) there used to be a narrow gauge rail track which was used to take the freshly cut watercress to the local mainline rail station. The watercress beds would appear to extend over an area 300m x 15-20m on average; they ceased production around 1962-3 (B1).
