Description

This house is clearly of early origin, the earliest identifiable work being not later than the 17th century. It appears to have been of 3 bays, with a heated bay at the far end, but the bay nearest the road might just be an addition to a 2-bay structure in the later 17th or early 18th century. The three bays, with the heated room (kitchen) in the far bay also appears at Church Farm, on the other side of the churchyard at Akeley. Probably originally a 3-bay small farmhouse, built in the later 17th century (B1).
