Description

Trial trenching carried out in October 2008 by Berkshire Archaeological Services identified two probable Medieval pits, the fill of one containing fragments of roof tile and pottery. Both pits were small, shallow and had probanly been truncated; the easternmost was 0.80m X 0.85m and 0.2m deep, the other was 0.65m X 0.43m and 0.13m deep. The site seems to have been in use as a garden during the post-medieval period until the construction of the printing works. See report for detail (B2).
