Description

Trial trenching carried out in May and June 2007 by Cotswold Archaeology identified the remains of a footing for a NE-SW aligned brick wall 0.3m wide abutting a tiled floor in Trench 4. [The presence of slate within an overlying layer of demolition debris suggests that the building was possibly C19]. 2m to the west a further brick wall footing aligned NE-SW appeared to be associated with the modern culvert for the Hughendon Stream. See report for detail (B1).
