Description

Quarry pit, sub-circular and cut into steeply sloping W flank of Pitstone Hill. 12m in diameter. Scarp into slope has previously collapsed and is unstable and liable to further slippage. Base of quarry pit is very uneven as a result of intensive rabbit burrowing. Broad spread of soil on slope below pit also much disturbed by rabbit burrowing (B1).
