Description

Evidence from Great Missenden cartulary for a "great marl pit" close to a grant of land from Hugh de Plessis to Missenden Abbey between 1263 and 1292. Visit by author of dissertation noted a marl pit c. 75m across to north-west of Little Kingshill which may be the one identified in the 13th century (B1). NGR from source but may be wooded area to west.
