Description

A 'U'-shaped range of buildings, probably farm buildings, arranged on the north, east and west sides of a yard, shown on 1st edition 25-inch and 6-inch OS maps and on all subsequent OS maps until after 1958. Visible on 1947 and 1950 RAF vertical APs and on 1954 Camridge oblique APs (B1).
Trial trenching carried out by AS&C in July 2007 identified a modern 'quarry' pit at least 8.5m X 4m and at least 1.4m deep, filled with 19th century and modern building rubble, probably representing disposal of demolition debris from the farm buildings (B2).
NGR derived from 1958 6-inch National Grid Provisional Edition OS map.
