Description

A ditch was excavated in Trench 19 of an evaluation of a gas pipeline from Marsh Gibbon to Hardwick. It was aligned north-south, was 0.70m wide and up to 0.50m deep. Two deposits filled the ditch, the lowest contained a sherd of Roman pottery and some fragments of animal bone (B1).
Positive anomaly identified in detailed magnetometry survey of this area (B2).
