Description

Evaluation trial trenching carried out by Bedfordshire County Archaeology Service in April 1999 identified the remains of 3 ditches aligned NW-SE, 0.87m - 1.25m wide and 0.1m - 0.15m deep, 2 had steep sides and a flat base, the other with sloping sides and a flat base; interpreted as post-medieval field boundaries. The base of a number of plough furrows, all aligned NE-SW, at right angles to the boundary ditches are probably contemporary with the field boundaries (B1).
