Description
Two seated privy from Mercer's Farm, Kingswood. It is a small softwood framed building, clad in elm feather edged boarding which has been tarred, and it has a slate roof. Internally it is plastered, and has a brick floor. There are two seats at different heights for adults and children. There is a hinged flap at the back to gain access to the buckets (B1). A small wooden earth closet with adult and child seats. Lath and plaster inside with a slate roof (B2). Exact original location unknown. NGR to middle of Mercer Farm as indicated on 1st Edition 6" OS map. Farm now renamed to Ashleigh Farm.
