Type and Period (2)

  • SEARCHLIGHT BATTERY? (Modern - 1939 AD? to 1945 AD?)
  • ANTI AIRCRAFT BATTERY? (Modern - 1939 AD? to 1945 AD?)

Description

A clear rectangular platform in the ridge and furrow with two indents visible on APs and suggested as location of windmill [CAS 4311] (B1).
Examination of 1946 and 1947 RAF vertical APs shows the rectangular platform clearly overlying the ridge and furrow and the form is more suggestive of a WWII searchlight emplacement or small anti-aircraft battery (B2).
