Description

The hamlet of Chackmore ('Chakemore', in 13th century; 'Jackemor', 'Chackemore' in 14th century) in the north-east of the parish contains several old buildings mostly of half-timber with thatched roofs. Chackmore was included in the manor of Radclive Manor (B1).
NGR to centre of hamlet.
1921 sales particulars of Stowe estate includes details of Chackmore (B2).
Conservation Area designated on 16th October 1991. See summary (B3).
