  • (Former Type) PARK PALE? (Medieval to Post-Medieval - 1066 AD? to 1798 AD?)

Description

Paired banks and ditches were found in woodland survey of Park Wood in 2006. One crosses a lynchet and clearly post-dates it. They could be the continuation of the park pale as the bank lies to the south of the ditch, though it is less substantial than the more certain park pale. Another set of the ditches, running north-south, is cut by the medieval 'homestead' and so pre-dates it (B8). NGR to centre of distribution.
