  • LYNCHET (Medieval to Post-Medieval - 1066 AD? to 1798 AD?)

Description

A group of lynchets were recorded in a 2006 survey of Park Wood, Bradenham. They were on the southern part of the survey area. Two lynchets seem to form two sides of a rectangular enclosure which has subsequently been extended slightly southwards by a more southerly lynchet. Another lynchet is very close to the north-west end of this crouping, and is a substantial south-facing scarp measuring up to 0.7m in height, between 3.5 and 4.5m in width and 130m in length. It does not appear to be connected with the other lynchets (B8). NGR to centre of distribution.
