Description
Two sub-rectangular pits were found during watching brief at Waddesdon Church of England School. They were 4m-4.95m long and 3.15-3.5m wide, with a post-hole at the western end of each pit. Although the form of these pits is suggestive of sunken-featured buildings of Anglo-Saxon date, one of the pits produced only post-medieval artefacts dating to the 17th/18th centuries. The spatial relationship to other post-medieval features, i.e. parallel to nearby ridge-and-furrow, strongly suggests that they represent an unusual form of post-medieval sunken-featured building (B2).
NGR to southern-most feature.
