Description

Grade II. Milepost giving distance along Alyesbury Arm. 1896 for Grand Junction Canal Company. Cast iron painted. A small rectangular plate with rounded corners and raised edge on T-section post. The plate bears the figure '4' in relief. Stone mileposts were replaced by cast iron ones in 1896 (Branch Johnson (1970), 120) (B5).
Milepost removed sometime before 20th February 2012 and de-listed on 10th June 2013 as no longer in-situ (B6).
