Description
The Harness Room is two-storied and located between the timber framed cross-wing and 20th century garages. The irregular form of the roof trusses and pattern of sooting suggests that the Harness Room is built from re-used timbers during the late 17th or 18th century. All the brick bonds noted were in use in the 18th century. The front elevation suggests the structure was used as a stable with hayloft above (B6).
Consultants report concluding dating evidence is ambiguous (B11).
