Description

Photographic recording carried out by AS&C in September 2004 prior to demolition of cotttage, with a watching brief during subsequent groundworks carried out in November 2004. The cottage appeared to date from the late 18th or early 19th century and was a two-storey brick and partly timber-framed building with a pitched gable roof of wooden shingles. A single-storey extension to the south appeared to be a 20th century partial rebuilding of an earlier structure with large stone chimney and unusual roof construction. The watching brief was negative but noted that the footings of the cottage had been shallow. (See report for detail)(B1).
