Description

Volunteer research excavation carried out from April 2002 to spring 2003 under direction of Jill Eyers, following discovery of Mesolithic tools and debitage on allotment. 684 square metres fully excavated to natural. Artefacts recovered include 71 tools, 33 unworked or partially worked flints (assumed to have been imported onto the site), 143 burnt flints and 235 debitage fragments. [Illustrated artefacts suggest that some of tools may be Neolithic or Bronze Age in date]. See report for detail (B1).
