Watching brief carried out by Richard Ivens in March and April 2006 during groundworks for new village hall identified a single undated round-bottomed ditch or pit 1.9m wide and 0.5m deep, visible for a lenth of 0.7m, interpreted as a field boundary shown the 1794 Enclosure Map as an area of old inclosures called 'New Close'. Two shallow furrow-like features 0.40-1.5m wide and 0.02-0.15m deep were interpreted as the remains of post-medieval ridge and furrow (see report for detail)(B1).
