Description

Initial (reconnaisance) survey carried out by David Radford of BCC in May 2005 identified large numbers of earthworks including 1 boundaty bank, 3 internal wood banks (all in good condition), 6 saw pits, a possible charcoal hearth, 2 trackways, a possible hollow way, a possible modern military feature, 1 quarry/pit [possibly CAS 08835?], and traces of coppice. A possible overgrown pond or similar earthwork was notes next to the southern entrance to the wood. The woodland comprised mature deciduous trees with areas of conifers and a thick hedge on the southern boundary. Wood only partly surveyed (B1).
