Description
Initial (reconnaisance) survey carried out by David Radford of BCC in May 2005 identified 1 very well-preserved saw pit, 1 quarry/pit [possibly CAS 08878?], a pair of unidentified L-shaped earthworks, a negative lynchet on the east side of the wood, and traces of coppice. The woodland comprised a mix of deciduous trees with mature birch. The wood is divided by the cutting for the M40 motorway and was only partially investigated (B1).
NGR to centre of Pound Wood.
