Initial (reconnaisance) survey carried out by David Radford of BCC in April 2005 identified a boundary bank and a single shallow trackway running down the slope of a dry valley or hollow. The western part of the wood was irregularly planted with conifers whilst the eastern part contained mature beech trees in the dry valley. The ground was uneven, but no other distinct earthworks were identified (B1).
