Description
Initial (reconnaisance) survey carried out by David Radford of BCC in April 2005 identified 8 quarry pits (mostly small, a single one large, over 80m across) and a single boundary bank along the east side of the wood. The woodland was predominantly conifer with some young deciduous trees, the western half mostly mature deciduous woodland. A modern raised track runs N-S through the wood (B1).
