Description

Heavy anti-aicraft battery, 'Dorney Common SM7', recorded as part of CBA's Defence of Britain project. Site recorded from documentary evidence only (B1).
Ancillary buildings shown on 1955-62 provisional edition 6-inch national grid OS map, marked 'Dorney Camp'. Ancillary buildings, gun emplacements, command post, false datum and gun laying radar platform visible on 1945 RAF vertical AP (B2).
The battery was armed with four 3.7-inch static guns with GL Mark IA radar in 1942, and was armed with four unspecified guns in 1944 (B3).
