Description
Heavy anti-aicraft battery, 'Wexham Street SM5', recorded as part of CBA's Defence of Britain project. Site recorded from documentary evidence only (B1).
Ancillary buildings shown on 1955-62 provisional edition 6-inch national grid OS map. Both ancillary buildings and gun emplacements visible on 1947 RAF vertical AP. 1951 RAF AP shows gun emplacements during demolition. Ancillary buildings still standing in 1955 RAF AP; though demolished and only hard standings remaining in 1965 when site being stripped for mineral extraction (B2).
