Description

Small quantities of unstratified medieval and post-medieval pottery and tile recovered from topsoil during a watching brief carried out out in March 2005 by Network Archaeology during groundworks for construction of a fishing lake. The sherds are generally large and unabraded, and it is suggested that they derive from nearby activity, possibly associated with the adjacent kiln site [CAS 4388], rather than representing a manuring scatter (B1).
Negative watching brief (B2).
