Description
The Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross Hospital (B1-2).
Cottage hospital built in 1871 at the expense of the Hibbert family of Chalfont Park, to serve the parishes of Chalfont St Giles, Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross. Provided initially with 6 beds and a cot and staffed by a medical officer and a nurse, the hospital was extended in 1924 with the addition of an octagonal operating theatre, in 1926 and again in 1928 (B3).
