Description

Robert d'Oilly and Roger of Ivry hold Stowe from the Bishop [of Bayeux]. It answers for 5 hides. Land for 5 ploughs; in lordship 1; a further 2 possible. 3 smallholders have 1/2 plough; [another] 1 1/2 possible. Meadow for 6 ploughs; woodland, 50 pigs. Value 40s; when acquired waste; before 1066, 60s. Thorgils, Baldwin son of Herlwin's man, held this manor; he could sell (B1).
