Description

Two men-at-arms hold Oving from the Bishop [of Coutances]. It answers for 10 hides. Land for 9 ploughs; in lordship 4; a fifth possible. 18 villagers have 3 ploughs; a fourth possible. 8 smallholders. Meadow for 4 ploughs; woodland, 200 pigs. Total value £10; when acquired 100s; before 1066 £7. Edwin, a thane of King Edward's, held this manor; he could sell. (B1).
