Description

Nigel of Berville holds 2 hides and 1 virgate in Drayton [Parslow] as one manor. Land for 8 ploughs; in lordship 1; a further 2 possible. 8 villagers with 2 smallholders have 4 1/2 ploughs; a further 1/2 possible. 3 slaves; meadow for 8 ploughs. Value 40s; when acquired 100s; as much before 1066. Leofwin of Nuneham held this manor from the King; later, in King William's time, Ralph Passwater held from the same Leofwin; he found 2 mail-clad men for the guard of Windsor. The Bishop of Coutances dispossessed Ralph and delivered [the manor] to the said Nigel (B1).
