Description
6 pits and the foundations of a brick building, all probably 18th to 19th century in date, found during watching brief carried out in May and June 2005 by Sutton Archaeological Services during groundworks for redevelopment of site for housing. The building (possibly a single storey outhouse) was aligned NW-SE, measured 8m X at least 5m and constructed of a single line of lime mortared unfrogged bricks, laid header to header. The site had been heavily disturbed and truncated during construction of the former petrol filling station and office block (B1). NGR to centre of site.
