'GRAVEL PIT' SHOWN ON 6IN OS 1ST EDITION (BUCKS SHEET 13, SURVEYED 1880); 25IN OS 1ST EDITION (BUCKS SHEET 13.7, SURVEYED 1879); 1:10,000 OS (SURVEYED 1971) [B1]
Two extractive pit of post medieval/modern date are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and were mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located approximately 500m west of Foscott, and centred at SP 71092 35668. Pits are cut in to ridge and furrow earthworks on Superficial Deposits of Glaciofluvial Deposits overlying Rutland Mudstone, pits are 90x60m and 109x35m. (2-3)
