A post medieval sand pit is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located adjacent Gawcott Farm and centred at SP 68685 31665, the irregularly shaped sand pit covers an area of about 8,356 square metres. The sand pit is recorded on the 1881 dated 1st Edition OS map (2-4).
