Description

'Pit' shown on 6-inch OS 1st edition (Bucks Sheet 48, surveyed 1876), and on 25-inch OS 1st edition (Bucks Sheet 48.14, surveyed 1876) (B1).
'Old Sand Pit' shown on 1900 2nd Edition 6-inch OS map (B2).
Geophysical survey carried out by GeoQuest in March and April 1999 identied a large area of heavily disturbed debris associated with a strong dipolar anomaly, probably representing the back-fill of the former sand pit (B3).
