Description

Robert of Thaon holds Chetwode from the Bishop [of Bayeux]. It answers for 10 hides. Land for 5 ploughs; in lordship 2. 7 villagers with 2 smallholders have 2 1/2 ploughs; [another] 1/2 possible. 6 slaves; 1 mill at 30d; meadow for 5 ploughs; woodland, 100 pigs. Value 60s; when acquired 40s; before 1066, 60s. Alnoth the Kentishman, a thane of King Edward's, held this manor; he could sell (B1).
