Description

Buckingham with Bourton answered for 1 hide before 1066 and does the same now. Land for 8 ploughs; in lordship 2. The villagers have 3 1/2 ploughs; a further 2 1/2 possible. 26 burgesses, 11 smallholders and 2 slaves. 1 mill at 14s; meadow for 8 ploughs; pasture for the village livestock. In total value it paid £10 at face value before 1066; now it pays £16 in white silver.
Hugh also holds Bourton from Walter [Giffard]. It answers for 1 hide. Land for 2 ploughs; in lordship 1. 2 villagers with 2 smallholders have 1 plough. Meadow for 2 ploughs. The value is and was 30s; before1066, 20s. Alric, a thane of King Edward's, held this manor; he could sell [B1].
