Description

Demolished furniture factory dating from the 1920s when the firm of E Gomme expanded from its site in Leigh Street. Latterly used for the manufacture of G-Plan furniture. Gommes took over the High Wycombe furniture-making businesses of Castle Brothers and William Birch and also had factories in Wrexham and Nelson. Following closure of the factory in 1992 the buildings were demolished and redeveloped for housing - now called Princes Gate. Not known if photographic record compiled prior to demolition. Wycombe Museum has history of the company (B1).
