Description

Remains of lynchet, aligned along current Stone/Dinton parish boundary, between corner of Eythrope Road and southern boundary of 'The Nursery' (wood). Earthwork survival is very variable: to the NW of 'The Nursery' only a trace of the ditch can be seen with a tiny bank, the bank is well-preserved along the W boundary of the wood, whilst a double ditch and broad low bank approx 0.5m high and approx 2m wide survives along the S boundary of the wood (B1). The parish boundary shown on Bryant's 1825 map appears to follow a slightly different line around 'The Nursery'. Earthworks possibly woodland boundary? NGR to W boundary of 'The Nursery'.
