Description

Three former late-1920s furniture factories on the north side of Copyground Lane. From the east they are as follows: Sherwood House (possibly on the site of the former W.G Smith's works), a white painted brick and slate building with the appearance of a dwelling house; Seymour House, a red brick and slate two-storey factory incorporating the former Vanguard Works and thought to have been occupied in conjunction with Tarn House (to the west) by G.M. Gray Furniture (see PRN 0843700000); Brow Works, as at 2004 occupied by Labco, and formerly the furniture factory of J.S.Smith. See report, sources and photographs (B1).
