Description

Late 1920s former furniture factory complex now converted to make four business units around a yard and called the Brow Business Centre. New metal roofs, cladding and replacement windows. Original roof was of slate. External metal staircases retained but one has a canopy. Formerly the factory of Gibbons, Tilbury & Smith. Mr Smith set up a rival business next door so the trading name was changed to Bonsbury Loom Furniture (anecdotal evidence). Sold at auction in 1936 when firm moved to Lane End Road (auction catalogue at Bucks CRO). To the east of the demolished furniture factory of T. W. Mealing. See report for detail, photograph and sources (B1).
