Description

Grade II+. Late C17 ornate tomb of the poet Edmund Waller (1608-87) who lived at Hall Barn. A marble obelisk is set on 4 winged skulls, the whole on a chest tomb type base in grey stone with relief carved drapery and flaming urns. Iron spearhead railing around (B3).
Included in English Heritage's Buildings ar Risk Register in 2006-7. Described as priority 4 (C): 'Slow decay; no solution agreed' (B7-8).
