Description

Bronze enamelled escutcheon, Celtic design (B1).
Enamelled disc, ornamented on 1 face with graceful scrolls distinguishable from early Anglo-Saxon work (B2).
Main design in red interspersed with yellow spots (B3).
Perhaps used as sort of hanging lamp (B6).
Reused as a pendant (B7).


An Anglo-Saxon bronze disc inlaid with red and yellow enamel, listed as an escutcheon from a hanging bowl, found at Oving. Now in Bucks County Museum (B2 and B7).
