Description

2ND.BRASS OF PROBUS. IT BEARS A GALEATED FIGURE INSCRIBED 'VIRTUS AUG.' AS ITS REVERSE AND MUST HAVE BEEN STRUCK AD 279. FOUND BY A LABOURER IN PLANTATION ON N. SIDE OF HARTWELL HOUSE (BIBL1). AT NGR (BIBL2).


A bronze coin of Probus was found by a labourer while digging in the plantation, on the north of Hartwell House (area SP 794125) in 1858 (B1).
