The OS 1st Edition 6in map shows a triangular water-filled hollow alongside the road and the parish boundary of Stoke Hammond. The revised 1930s OS mapping shows the same triangualr area, but it is not water-filled and there are trees growing on it. By 1977-78 the shape of the area is still present and appears to contain a building (1, 2).
