Description

An headland was visible at the southern end of the site as an earthwork. A sondage 1.4m wide and 05.-0.7m deep was machine cut and revealed gravel at 0.35m but did not locate any buried soil layers. The plough stripes visible during the excavation to the north were orientated NE-SW and 10m apart. Those to the south are at right angles and 7m apart (5).
